Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 3 to 5 minutes.
Place each ear of corn on a piece of aluminium foil large enough to wrap it completely.
Place 1 tablespoon of butter on each ear of corn and sprinkle over the salt, dividing it evenly between them.
Wrap each ear of corn tightly in the foil so there are no open seams.
Place the wrapped corn in the air fryer basket, arranged in a single layer.
Cook at 390°F (200°C) for 10 minutes.
Carefully unwrap the corn and return the ears to the basket.
Cook uncovered for a further 3 minutes to develop a slight char and deepen the flavour.
Remove from the air fryer and serve hot, spooning over any butter left in the foil.
Notes
Nutrition values are an estimate. Wrap each ear tightly so no steam escapes, as loose parcels dry out the kernels. The last 3 minutes unwrapped are what give the char, so do not skip them. If using salted butter, halve the added salt.
