Ingredients

  • 2 bone-in pork chops about 1 inch thick
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oil avocado or light olive

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, dried sage, garlic powder, brown sugar, black pepper and oil into a loose paste.
  • Rub the paste evenly over both sides of the pork chops and leave them at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Place the chops in the basket in a single layer without overlapping and cook for 10 minutes, turning them halfway through.
  • Check that the thickest part reads 145°F, then rest the chops on a board for 3 to 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Nutrition values are an estimate. Pork is safe at 145°F followed by a three minute rest. The brown sugar is there for browning rather than sweetness. Cook the chops in a single layer without overlapping, and check thinner chops two minutes early.
