Just made this! Recipe was easy to follow and came out so yummy!!
This happened to me too
I made this but the meat absorbed the sauce. It never got saucy or brown. Still tasty though. Any tips?
Happened to me too! Still yummy but would love for it to be a sauce!
Same, mine did not come out saucy. Great flavor though .
Delicious! Just made this last night as a meal prep recipe for the week. So tasty adding to my weekly rotation for sure! I used 10oz of ground turkey since it was what I had on hand. Added 2 tablespoons of water when cooking otherwise directions were great! I may double sauce in future so I have extra for veggies or rice.
Thank you, happy to know that you liked this ground turkey recipe.
I used Korean Taekyung red pepper powder in place of red pepper flakes, and finished it with the sesame oil instead of cooking with it.
The sauce was a beautiful reddish brown. A tad salty, even with the low sodium Tamari, but I’d make it again!

A keeper for sure! I use 2 pkgs. of Turkey and quadruple the sauce. This makes for a saucier meat to put over rice. My family loves this dish! Sent to friends and they raved about it, too!
I use Chipotle Chili pepper in place of the red pepper flakes to give it a more smokey flavor. Love this! ^_^
Could you substitute green onions for chives?
When I made this it came out extremely salty. Did you use low sodium soy sauce? I used virgin olive oil instead of sesame oil if this has impact.
Flavor turned out great! Just not as saucy or brown colored! The picture looks more like a glazed look! Any tips!
I tripled the recipe’s sauce because of the comments, and I don’t regret it! It was so good. Thank you for this recipe!
This recipe was a big hit at my house. My daughter has food allergies and always wants to try Chinese or Korean but can’t have it out do to allergies and cross contamination. I substituted the seasame oil with olive oil and omitted the sesame seeds as well. I did add zucchini to the mix and told her it was a Korean vegetable and served it with brown rice and a side of string beans. It was easy to make!! She loved it and my son asked me to pack the leftovers so he could take it to work for lunch. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Antonietta! I’m so glad that the recipe was a hit with your family. It’s always great to hear when people are able to make delicious meals without compromising on their food allergies. Adapting recipes to fit dietary needs is always a challenge, but it is incredibly rewarding when it works out as well as it seems to have in your case. I’m so glad that your daughter was able to enjoy the meal, and that your son wanted to take it for lunch the next day! Thanks again for sharing your story with me. I hope you enjoy trying more of my recipes in the future.
My favorite turkey recipe. I loved every bite and will do it again. Great tutorial, thanks.
such an easy weeknight meal. It’s got loads of flavour and super easy to make. I’m way too busy to be fussy about on a weeknight, so will be making this again.
We’ve been getting bored with turkey meatballs lol so it was nice to try something new! This had so much flavor!
Loved this paired with some steamed rice, it has so much flavor and is so easy to make! I had some leftovers and sprinkled it on top of homemade pizza with some gochujang and it was just perfect!
Holy heck, my family DEVOURED this for dinner last night, thank youuuu!!! Going to have to double the recipe next time so we can have leftovers, haha
Recipe was delicious! My husband loved it.
I made rice & a Koran cucumber salad! Delicious
thought I’d try this recipe to switch it up. my husband and I love using ground turkey and was excited to try this. I did have to tweek it a bit, added more water and garlic chives, added some hot sauce. I would probably recommend using a light soy sauce as it was way too salty for us. I used gochugaru powder since it’s a Korean dish and I’ve got it on hand. I might even throw in some orange juice or pineapple for more added sweetness…
we both agree, this is definitely gonna a recipe we will use again in the near future! thanks for sharing!
Delicious! Even the kids love it! It’s now a regular meal in our house. Easy and quick to make. I sub the soy sauce for coconut aminos and it works great. Thank you!!
Going to make this tonight but can’t make out what is almost black in it, like black sesame seeds or something. Or maybe just the chives. Not sure.
Very good recipe. I made 1.5 times the sauce bc it came out a little dry the first time I made it.
Delicious
This is such a great recipe! I like to add a bit more water to make it saucier (is that a word?). I’ve added this to my weekly meal prep! I add it to rice and it’s perfect reheated at work. It makes 4 meals and my husband and I each eat it 2x a week. Yummy!
I mage this again, this time sing zucchini and carrots. Yummy!
After reading the reviews, I doubled the sauce. But fantastic recipe. Definitely will make again. Thanks for sharing
I love how fast this was. I often add Taylor Farms sweet kale salad mix to these types of recipes and I did it with this and it worked great. Just add it once the turkey is browned and let it cook a few minutes before adding the sauce.
we tried this tonight and i added onions and veggies (carrots & sugar snap peas) – i doubled the sauce and it was very easy and tasty. FYI – (pet peeve) – the garnish in your picture is green onion (scallions) – NOT chives. Chives are a much thinner shoot and do not have the white onion tip on it. sorry to be nit-picky but it just bugs me to see green onion labeled as chives. i used actual chives on my dish – it was very good.
